It’s Already Hard Enough, Make it Fun

What’s the most fun way to exercise?

Exercising is hard in general, especially for someone who struggles with motivation in general. I know it’s good for my mental and physical health, but that doesn’t make it any easier. However, there are certain exercises I do enjoy.

Personally, I’ve always really liked biking. I used to bike every day after school in the sixth grade before I flipped out and broke my bike. I did end up getting a new bike but I don’t use it very often because of how steep my driveway is. I’m also not big on the outdoors in general. However, my girlfriend recently found a foldable stationary bike at a thrift store for about $15 (USD)! It has a stand for my phone so I can watch videos or whatever while I’m on it which is a lot of fun! I usually try to bike for an entire 40-minute YouTube video that I’ve seen before but I haven’t really sat down to actually watch in a long while.

One really fun way to exercise is the WiiFit! There are a lot of different games to play that actually do get you moving and you can feel the burn sometimes. There’s also yoga and actual exercises available to do as well. I found I prefer the option allowing me to pick what areas of my body I want to work on and it’ll give me three exercises working that area! There are different areas like posture, arms and shoulders, hips and legs, overindulged, warm up, etc! I can also set how much time I want to spend exercising overall! I’ve seen some YouTubers playing the WiiFit and such but it really does help get you moving in a fun way!

If I do want to hit a short focused exercise like just a ten minute thighs and glutes workout, then I just look up a YouTube video. I don’t need an expensive gym membership or any real knowledge of what I’m doing. There are a lot of free videos with simple or complicated exercises that work whatever you want to hit. I wouldn’t call it particularly fun, but it’s a lot easier than anything else I’ve tried.
