The Foggy Mirror

Steam climbs to the ceiling
Warm water gushing through the faucet
Clothes are falling to the floor
A clear mirror reflects it all
Stepping through the curtain
The light begins to fade behind me
Water dripping down my back
The mirror is now out of sight
Shampoo runs through my hair
Soap and bubbles cleanse my dirty skin
Rinse away the grimy day
The mirror is getting foggy
Thoughts flowing through my head
Pinching my skin between my fingers
"How much did you eat today?"
Hiding away from the mirrors
Turning off the water
Wrapping myself in a clean towel
The ends just barely meeting
Glad that the mirror is foggy
Drying off the wet skin
Purposefully never looking down
Hiding under baggy clothes
Before the mirror becomes clear
Grab the dirty clothing
Leaving the room without looking back
Jump into my cozy bed
Where I'm safe from all the mirrors
