It’s Valentine’s Day! Today is the perfect excuse to talk about my girlfriend again and how we celebrate the day.

Honestly, we don’t do anything big or fancy for the holiday. We love each other a lot and tend to give each other small gifts randomly when we see something the other likes. If we’re interested in anything Valentine’s themed, we usually wait until a day or so after the holiday when everything is on sale! My favorite is stocking up on candy! We do this with all the holidays!

Eating out can be very draining for us since we’re both introverts and Valentine’s Day is the busiest day for restaurants! I used to work at a small Italian restaurant on Valentine’s Day and it was a nightmare! I’ve also eaten out on Valentine’s Day with an ex and we were in line for nearly an hour just waiting for a seat. We’d much rather make something at home and sit down with a movie than leave the comfort of our home to eat out on one of the busiest days of the year!

A lot of people think our dates don’t actually count as dates because we don’t do typical dates very often, but we don’t care. We celebrate and enjoy each other’s company in a way that works for us, and that’s all that matters! I’m just as happy watching random movies we’ve seen more times than we can count, eating a regular meal as I am going out to try a new restaurant or see a movie in theatres. It also helps that we spend time together in ways that are easier on the wallet! Either way, we love each other, and that’s all that matters!
