What’s your favorite candy?
I love all kinds of candies and sweets. Chocolates, twizzlers, caramel, butterschotch, lollipops, etc. You name it, I’ll let you know, I do have limits. But for a lot of candies I have to be in the mood for it. Especially hard fruity candies.
Peppermints, on the other hand, are always a yes! I love a good mint flavor! My go-to gum is Extra Polar Ice (Yes, that specific mint!) and during Christmas I go absolutely nuts over candy canes! Red and white stripes swirling over the most delectibly dangerous candy ever known! Almost everyone who’s ever had a candy cane has tried to suck the end into a point to pretend it was the best weapon for stabbing younger siblings or your own finger to test the ouch-scale. It was sharp enough to draw blood sometimes! At least, according to my tongue. It was both the most dangerous, and most fragile part of the whole treat. One wrong move and your entire weapon is collecting lint with the dust bunnies.
Not as fun or dangerous but still delicious, are the little starlites (yes, that’s what they’re called). I prefer the ones that are just mint though, some restaurants leave out ones with cinnamon or something to it and that’s alright, I guess, but nothing beats the pure minty flavor! The only problem is, one is not enough! I always find myself reaching for another one no matter how loudly my brain tries to tell me to limit myself! I can’t help it!
The peppermint stripes are also pretty good. I love the way they melt in my mouth, but it doesn’t have that same minty kick as the candy canes and starlites. I mostly eat them just so they can melt in my mouth! I love the texture! It’s so soft and it pretty much just leaves the red stripes which I can bite into little pieces!
Of course, I love other minty candies like peppermint patties and whatever those little white mints they hand out at restaurants are? I could eat a whole bag of those white mints! The perfect smooth texture and round surface is just pleasing to the tongue while the mint is just flavorful enough to allow a beautiful blend of sweetness. They just melt in my mouth but slow enough that I can enjoy it and the flavor lingers for a while afterward. Honestly, I probably could buy myself a whole bag, but I’m both broke and too lazy to figure out what they’re called!
