People are fragile like glass
Every time life takes something, the glass breaks
We spend all our time trying to put the pieces back together
But life swept them away with the wind; gone for eternity
A void is left where the glass used to be
We spend our lives trying to fill these voids
Drugs, sweets, food, even people
Our additions keep our voids full
But it doesn’t last long; we keep needing more
Some people try to take the glass from others
But it never fits and eventually falls apart
It’s only when we learn to fill the void ourselves
Without materials or people
That we begin to feel whole again
We can have our friends help
But only when we face the void can we find the broken pieces
We start by being happy with the glass we have left
Even a pile of broken glass is at least close together
By focusing on the glass that’s gone
We feel the emptiness of the void
But focusing on the glass we have
We see the good in what we have
The good in ourselves
