Winter

Winter is huddling at the bus stop in heavy coats
Our breath wisping into the twinkling sky
Starting the car minutes before we leave
The heat all the way up and the defrosters on
Winter is walking through the halls in in fuzzy socks
Wearing jeans and sleeves covering my wrists
With a selection of hats, scarves, and gloves
And a pair of warm brown boots well worn-in
Winter is the glittering snow falling from the sky
Lungs breathing in the cold crisp air
The ground turning white and sparkling brigh
Snowmen, snowballs, sledding, forts, and angels
Winter is gripping a warm cup of hot cocoa with numb fingers
Wrapping up in blankets on the sofa with family
Watching flames flicker filling the room with warmth
Falling asleep in fuzzy pajamas and piled blankets
