Free Will

We were given a gift
We were told to use
Free power, free will
But we abused it

We started to bicker
We started to fight
We created wars
We ruined our sight

We stood together
As brothers and sisters
We were united
Respected mothers and misters

But look at us now
We built walls between us
We stand divided
Can anything free us?

United we stood
Joined hand in hand
But we slapped them away
Now alone we stand

How far will this go
Before we see our mistakes?
Time to take a chance
Before this war escalates

Nukes, guns, and bombs
Weapons of fear
Chemical warfare, intimidation
Nobody mentions the children in tears

All of us are different
It's part of free will
But no one can see it
We just want to kill

Maybe if we try to put others before us
Instead of inflicting pain
We won't stand so divided
And the tears will cease to rain
